Crisis & Issues Management
No one likes to think that they will be on the receiving end of negative publicity, factual inaccuracies or overtly critical coverage. Unfortunately, there is no law which states that journalists or customers have to be persistently positive about you.
Sadly, it is not uncommon to get negative coverage in the press or on social media these days – thousands of companies are criticised publicly on a daily basis… you would be a rare exception if it did not happen to your organisation at some stage. Whilst you may not need to firefight a Deepwater Horizon catastrophe, for a small business, bad press can feel like the end of the world.
jag would be delighted to talk to you about drawing up a bespoke crisis management plan whatever your company’s size. It is always best to prepare for disaster before it happens. You only want to be unprepared for a crisis once.
Do you need support now?
Whilst it is best to be prepared, if you come to us with a crisis, we guarantee to put in place our 7 point crisis plan within 2 hours. We will quickly establish your key objectives and issue a holding statement, simply stating that you are investigating the situation and will issue more details shortly.
Action taken at the beginning is worth twice as much as any action taken days later. Should a crisis arise, let us put in place an established, efficient crisis management process to reduce the drama and keep the negative coverage to a minimum.
If you aren’t geared up within the first two hours to inform the media, the public, your customers or your suppliers about the reality, you will be judged guilty until proven innocent. Don’t let that happen.
