We are holding an Open Day on Saturday November 14

The Perrymount Clinic is one year old! To celebrate, the ‘head to toe’ health practice is holding its first ever Open Day to which everyone is invited.

Situated in 2 Clair Road, the Perrymount is the only clinic in Haywards Heath offering over 10 core health therapies¹ alongside a thriving beauty clinic – and anyone turning up on November 14 will be able to sample them for free.

Founder and owner, Christian Bates, explains: “November is a good time to open our doors to the public. Before the winter sets in it is always an excellent idea to get help and advice about how to see the winter through in the healthiest way possible.

“Whilst discussing how to support the immune system, we would also encourage visitors to talk about the variety of therapies on offer at the Perrymount. These include osteopathy, acupuncture, homeopathy, sports massage and naturopathy to name a few. An open day is the perfect opportunity to talk to us about which therapy might be the most appropriate for you and why.”

Ever wondered how homeopathy could help you? Mary-Jane Sharratt, the clinic’s resident homeopath explains: “It is an effective system of healing which assists the natural tendency of the body to heal itself. Homeopathic remedies work by stimulating the body’s own healing abilities.

“It works on the principle of ‘like cures like’ – that is, a substance that would cause symptoms in a healthy person is used to cure those same symptoms in illness. For example, one remedy which might be used in a person suffering from insomnia is Coffea, a remedy made from coffee.”

What about acupuncture? The Chinese and other eastern cultures have been using acupuncture to restore, promote and maintain good health for thousands of years. Nowadays, more and more people are finding this long established therapy can offer an effective solution to all manner of today’s ills.

Acupuncturist Mo Froud adds: “Treatment is aimed at the root of your condition, as well as your symptoms. It is widely considered to be beneficial for a range of things – from clearly defined complaints such as headaches and vomiting, neck ache, and back and dental pain, through to more general feelings of ill health such as nausea or low energy.”

While in the building, beauty therapist Gemma Phelan hopes men as well as women won’t pass up the opportunity to sample a beauty treatment², such as a skin care consultation or hand, foot or scalp massage. Gemma is unequivocal: “There is no better way to escape from the stress of day to day life.”

There will also be a number of demonstrations – so why not watch one or even take part? How about a spinal or allergy check?   As a thank you for attending, any appointments booked on Saturday November 14 will be discounted by 50%.

More than a clinic

The Perrymount has become more than clinic – it has taken less than 365 days for it to take its place at the heart of the local community. Sandra, who has been the receptionist since it launched in 2008, explains: “Not only do people ring us regularly for health advice, but many of our patients will also drop in for a cup of tea and a relaxing chat. Some of our patients have also been known to drop in to show us their holiday snaps or to share some homemade muffins.”

No age range is excluded from the clinic. “One day recently,” says Christian “I treated a very unsettled 7-day old baby and an 82 year-old woman with acute low back pain.”

What’s new?

The Perrymount is delighted to announce that October sees the launch of a new weight loss clinic and it is being run by no other than Pete Cohen, who has been helping people lose weight for over 20 years. A regular on This Morning and GMTV, Pete will help clients to learn the habits necessary to lose weight and keep it off forever.

“Because of the multi-disciplinary nature of our clinic we are able to offer a truly holistic and integrated service,” adds Christian. “Over the last year our practitioners have joined forces to create a number of specialist clinics and the Baby Clinic, launched in July, will support mothers-to-be to enjoy a health pregnancy and the early months of being a mum.”

The Baby Clinic is primarily for treating things like birth trauma, ear infections, colic and generally being unsettled.

Mo Froud has recently also launched a Multi-bed Acupuncture Clinic, which is another first for Haywards Heath. “By reducing the cost of treatments, patients are able to have acupuncture frequently enough and for long enough to properly get better and stay better,” explains Mo.

Over the next few months, the Perrymount also plans to launch a Loyalty Card and a range of Corporate Discounts. Christian explains: “We already have special arrangements with a number of local companies but we are keen to work with many others. For example, employees of all companies would benefit enormously from a spinal check. We are able to go to any company and help them assess their staff’s posture and how to improve it.”

The clinic also already runs a growing sports discount club. “We offer member discounts for osteopathy and sports massage. A number of local clubs have already signed up,” explained Christian.

Another huge plus point, particularly for commuters – the clinic has extended opening hours in the evenings (Tuesday until 8pm) and weekends (Saturday 9 to 1pm).                                                                                                                        Ends
